Last October I had the chance to make a short road trip to the neighbouring province of Alberta to visit my daughter. Today I'd like to present some of my favourite landscape photos from that trip.
This is Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. We arrived just before sunset and climbed to the top of the "rockpile" which turned out to more strenuous than I thought. It's about a hundred-metre climb to this iconic viewpoint and we were racing against the clock. This was my first visit to this gorgeous place and it was the thrill of a lifetime for me!
This is the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta... the "Castle in the Rockies."
This is Mystic Peak with the Bow River running through the foreground, photographed from a turnout on the Trans Canada highway.
Finally, here is a photo from the Kananaskis Trail which runs between Canmore and Calgary. The Kananaskis Trail is one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken. Truly spectacular scenery!
All photos were taken by me, @keithboone, with a Fuji X-T4 camera and 16-80mm lens, presented here for the #Monomad Photography Challenge by @brumest and @monochromes. Thanks very much for visiting!
wow this is beautiful hope i can go there.
It truly is a fabulous place, Banff National Park is the most beautiful place I've ever been to. Thanks so much for commenting!
You could never imagine that these sceneries can look so stunning in B&W would love to be driving along that road 👍
Thank you so much! Yes, that road was just amazing. The actual colours were autumn... flashes of yellow on the small bushes highlighted against the dark green of the forest.
Certainly sounds like a drive to take through them mountains am yet to see that part of the world hopefully one day soon.
Nice light in the first one, some “Shining” mood in the second and all together a bunch of solid eyecandy here🖖🏼😎🤙🏼
Thanks so much! "The Shining" is exactly what I was going for in photo #2, I'm happy you got that! :-) I appreciate the reblog as well!
welcome🖖🏼👁🤙🏼 so the REDЯUM 👯♂️ psycho mind transfer worked pretty well then 😁👍🏽
Haha! Yes, exactly! :-)
Black and white really captures these beautifully, well done.
Thanks very much, Dave!
Excellent in monochrome, yes stunning scenery around this region.
Busy watching an interesting presentation on British rail through variety of countries, am currently enjoying history on You Tube BBC's Great Canadian Railway Journeys "Kamloops to Banff" S01 EPISODE 09/15.
Knowing I will never get there in person, a passion for travel by train this is next best to visit places.
Thanks for sharing Keith.
Hi Joan, thanks very much for the video link. I've travelled through all the places they showed many times but never by train. It does look like quite a luxurious way to travel but I expect the price is beyond what I could afford. That was fun to watch!
Series following his 1913 book really has been interesting, train travel is, and always will be top of the list for me, if only our country had looked after what we had!
Fortunately we did travel many years ago when it was still very affordable, now very few private trains are on offer and have become excessively expensive.
Congratulations. Today's #monomad third place is yours. Thank You very much for participating.
Also, and in case you didn't yet, feel free to join our Black And White Community.
Thanks so much, @monochromes!
Stunning landscape photos...
