Monomad challenge entry #168: Through the fire, not burned but reborn.

in Black And White22 days ago

In my head, I rehearsed many ways that I could have started writing this blog however, as soon as I put pen to paper nothing made sense. Naturally, I will speak about my absence from Hive for a whole year. I guess that's what I'll do.
Happy new year Hive. It's always a great feeling to come back here and meet the community buzzing. I'm glad a lot of people aren't like me. My absence hasn't been without a reason. 2024 was such a tremendous year for me. And that's why the title of this blog post is what it is. I truly feel like I've through the fire and now I've been reborn.

Last year, I experienced a lot of things. A lot of positive things I must say. I got my first car, my business (photography business) grew so much that it was overwhelming at some point. That's the major reason I was off the entirety of 2024. Being a freelancer, I was in charge of everything. From administrative duties to actually being a photographer. I've made quite some changes this year and I no longer identify as a freelance photographer but as a company. I now have some people in my employ and that has reduced my workload.

In everything that happened to me last year, the best thing that happened to me was getting married to my girlfriend. Yes! I got married. I remember joining Hive as a single man, now I have a whole wife. Marriage has been such a beautiful experience for me. By tomorrow I'll be celebrating my 6 month wedding anniversary. I got married on the 7th of August last year. It was the wedding day of my dreams. As I return gradually to the Hive, I'll be sharing details about my wedding and how marriage has been so far. But if you'd like to get all the gist now, you can read about it in my wife's blog.

Since the day after my wedding, my wife and I have had no rest. Not even for our honeymoon. She's a photographer as well and we've both been burdened by work. Aside from that, we've been working on a renovation project of my (now our) studio. We rounded up the renovation project yesterday and now the work in this new year begins.

This post whilst it serves as my reentrance into the Hive, it'll also be an entry for the #monomad challenge. So I'll cease to bore you(the readers) with details of my life you may not want to know about. For my entry, I'll be sharing photos of myself and my wife.

Some of the photos were taken in preparation of our wedding and some on our wedding day. I hope you like them and I hope I'm welcomed back into the Hive and the black and white community.
