Walking Through Candelaria
The beginning of a calm and serene day led me to move around the parish of La Candelaria. I had to pick up some products that I had ordered online. The address was a little complicated for me, and while I found it. This mishap led me to know some corners: Alcabala, Esquina, Ferrenquín and many others. As I walked, I discovered streets and buildings that, for the most part, are constructions that stand out for their vertical or square architecture, I would say, with very straight lines, typical of the fifties and sixties approximately.

Caminando Por La Candelaria El comienzo de un día tranquilo y sereno me llevó a movilizarme por la parroquia La Candelaria. Tenía que ir a retirar unos productos que encargué por internet. La dirección para mí, fue un poco complicada, y mientras que la encontraba. Este percance me llevó a conocer algunas esquinas: como la de Alcabala, Esquina, Ferrenquín y muchas otras. Mientras caminaba, fui descubriendo calles y edificaciones que, en su mayoría, son construcciones que se destacan por una arquitectura vertical o cuadrada, diría yo, con líneas muy rectas, propias de los años cincuenta y sesenta aproximadamente.
I walked through many corners and I found narrow streets, and many parked cars and some people on the road, perhaps because it was early and they were just coming out to the street. While I was asking for directions to where I was going, I took some pictures that caught my attention, because it is still imprinted in the environment the decade of the sixties, by the type of family housing that I observed.
Caminé por muchas esquinas y me encontré con calles estrechas, y muchos carros aparcados y algunas personas en el camino, quizás porque era temprano y apenas estaban saliendo a la calle. Mientras que preguntaba por la dirección a donde yo iba, tomé algunas imágenes que me llamaron mucho la atención, porque todavía está impreso en el ambiente la década de los años sesenta, por el tipo de vivienda familiar que observaba.
But I continued exploring, then I found more modern buildings. An urban space that transformed the parish to modernity, leaving behind its colonial essence. And over time, it became a very popular parish, due to the increase of stores, restaurants that offer a vast gastronomy specialized in Spanish, Galician, Italian, Chinese food, integrated to a large population of Canarian, Basque, and Portuguese immigrants, who are settled since the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in our country and live in the parish of Candelaria itself.
Pero seguí explorando, entonces me encontré con edificaciones más modernas. Un espacio urbano que transformó la parroquia a la modernidad, dejando atrás su esencia colonial. Y con el tiempo, se convirtió en una parroquia muy popular, debido al incremento de comercios, restaurante que ofrecen una basta gastronomía especializadas en comida española, gallega, italiana, china, integrada a una gran población de inmigrantes canarios, vascos, y portugueses, que están asentados desde los siglos XIX y XX en nuestro país y viven, en la propia parroquia de la Candelaria.
In short, I arrived at the place, the weather was very pleasant, it was not so hot. Although the streets are lonely, there is another part of Candelaria that is very lively.
En definitiva, llegué al lugar, el clima estuvo muy agradable, no había tanto calor. Aunque se ven las calles solas, hay otra parte de la Candelaria que es muy animada.
