When I travel with my camera sometimes I pay a lot of attention to the doors and to the windows in front of my lens.
I believe that the doors and the windows show very much about the personality of the owner and the architect of the building.
Is the door wooden? Is the door metallic?
Is it uniquely designed or it is just an ordinary door built to prevent the property?
Is it painted in bright and vivid colors? Is it left open or is it closed with a lock?
Doors and windows tell stories!
You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by the monochromes account and community and supported by the qurator account, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!

Thanks so much, team! :)
Really excellent shots here. I see why you selected the first one for your entry. So well done. I like the old doors in the following one. The third one, love the window and the way you shot this one.
I had not considered this before, not ever. Thanks, this gives me a whole other perspective and something to sit with for a while, so to speak.
My pleasure and thank you very much! :)
You're welcome! I'll watch for more windows and doors to the "inner hidden side of everything". 😊
Hehhee, ok then :)
I'll capture more on my next travel ;)
Please do, I'd love to see them! I've had a long standing interest in doors in particular, but your post has now added windows to that. Maybe it's because where I live, the interesting windows are not so common as the mundane all-look-the-same ones.
It's a deal then :D
I'll check a few other folders with photos from various travels ;)

what you say is very true, the doors can say a lot about the people who live there.
My dad usually leaves the door of his house open all the time and now that I think about it, he has always been a very open person who helps everyone.
That would be quite a good explanation. As they say... A friend in need is a friend indeed ;)

Nice parallel between color photography and black and white. Never thought of it this way, and usually stick to color, but you got me intrigued by it now.
Thanks.
Welcome and thanks :)
No wonder the B&W community is one of the busiest ;)
