The Raw Society Exercise || MONOMAD CHALLENGE [EN-ES]

This is my entry to the #monomad challenge

Hello to all black and white lovers. I recently told you about a meeting I was invited to where I was able to talk with photographers from National Geographic who created a community called The Raw Society. If you haven't been able to read it and you are a fan of documentary photography I invite you to check it out here.

Both photographers of such a high level are giving a workshop in Havana and two days ago I was able to participate in a practical exercise they did as part of this workshop. Several Cuban photographers I know and one of the students of The Raw Society who joined us from the USA participated. The exercise consisted of capturing only 3 characters within the composition and without anything else stealing their attention such as a vanishing point or an element that would steal a large part of the image.

We moved to a park where we all split up to try to take photos that complied with the exercise. Being in the same place we could notice the differences between several people when it came to framing, composing and editing. Personally I found it difficult to find the result, many times I saw that I could achieve an image that met the conditions and someone else joined the framing and it was no longer useful. This happened to me many times, but I leave you the images that I made and that come closest to meet the requirements. I hope you can give me your opinion.

This last one is my favorite of all and the one that most closely resembles what I was looking for. In my opinion people this kind of exercises help a lot to train the eye, both when framing and composing, as well as when planning what you want to do. You go out on the street and many times we don't have an idea of what to look for and just capture what we see. I recommend you try to do something like this so you can see how difficult it is and how much you can learn from it.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read it all, your words are always a help to keep improving

@manuphotos In fact, my experience, when I want to shoot on the road, I've made a concept in my head, but when it happens on the road, all the concepts that I designed all just disappear, moreover I'm still very stiff to take pictures on the road.

That happens almost all the time, in my case i don’t let a shoot where missing when i see it but i try to keep looking for the one i have in my head until i accomplished

@manuphotos strangely it didn't apply to me, I lost focus in thinking, especially when I was greeted by several people on the street. it makes me nervous.

Search a post in my blog were i take portraits to people in the street, is the best way to do better with people when you are taking photos

@manuphotos thanks, that will be the center of my attention.
