A Guardian Dog _ monomad daily chalenge

in Black And White3 days ago

Hello to all my friends in the Black and White community. I hope you're all doing well and everything is running smoothly there. I'm Manti, and I'm back with a new photography session and blog. Today, while Ehsan and I were strolling around our garden, we encountered a large dog amidst a flock of sheep and a shepherd. In the short time we spent there, we found some excellent subjects for photography, with this large dog becoming our main focus.

An interesting point about these types of dogs is that their ears and tails, which are meant to protect the flock, especially against predators like wolves and hyenas, can actually be a weakness. Engaging in a fight against a wolf becomes much more difficult for them.

Therefore, in the small series I'm working on, I'm documenting how a surgeon helps them by removing their ears and tails, which ultimately benefits them. The first photo I took was with a 20mm lens, from a low angle, to better showcase the dog's majestic presence. Such angles are definitely suitable for emphasizing the grandeur of people, animals, and even buildings or any subject we photograph. A collar with a bell was also around its neck to make it easier for it to guide the flock.

Next, we moved a bit closer and captured the dog's fierce yet gentle face. With its large paws, it could be quite intimidating during an encounter. The photography session continued, and I seized every opportunity to frame a good shot and capture excellent perspectives, aiming for diverse and better angles. Our third photo highlights its jaws and large head.

This dog was vigilant, constantly aware of its surroundings. Even while being friendly with us, it kept watch, ensuring nothing approached the flock and threatened it.

Later, I took a profile shot of it gazing into the distance. It was a great moment, and we were thrilled to have found such wonderful subjects. Then, Ehsan wanted to take a couple of good photos with the dog, so he sat beside it. In the first photo, he gives the dog a cool look, while the dog remains focused on the flock. This photo, which I believe is one of the most beautiful I've ever captured, shows both of them looking at the camera. Ehsan smiles, and the dog, as always, has a beautiful frown on its face. I've saved it for last as a surprise.

Thank you for staying with me till the end of this post. If I get the chance to edit the rest of the photos, I'll share some great shots of the shepherd and the flock of sheep in my next post. Take care, and until we meet again, farewell
