"Hey everyone, it's me, Menti, back with another photoshoot and blog post! Today, I had the pleasure of working with a really cool friend of mine, Mersad, who had been wanting to do a new photoshoot for a while.
I suggested we try out a fresh new style and experiment with some poses and angles that we hadn't seen much before. Mersad was totally on board, so we got started.
To set the scene, I positioned a large reflector facing directly towards the camera, extending it all the way to the wall beneath the paintings. Mersad sat on the floor with their legs stretched out towards me. I used a smoke machine to create a hazy atmosphere behind Mersad. For the lighting, I made sure to place a light behind Mersad to illuminate both the smoke and their back.
I experimented with different angles, shooting from slightly below for a more dramatic look. In another shot, I tried the opposite approach, shooting from above with the smoke between Mersad and the camera.
The pose and the angle of the gaze are really important for achieving a good composition. I even climbed onto a chair to get a higher vantage point. I didn't shoot directly from above because it caused too much distortion, so I tilted the camera slightly to capture Mersad's torso as well.
For the next setup, I moved to a different part of the studio and used a backlight. I took several shots of Mersad in both standing and sitting positions. Everything went really smoothly, and it was an amazing experience.

I've found that using props like glasses can be a great way to boost a model's confidence, especially at the beginning of a shoot. Of course, Mersad didn't need any help in that department.
