This is my Monday Missions Entry for the @qurator mission to "photograph six things that start with the letter P and create a post about it…" and "to specify what the letter P thing is with each photograph."
Our Gizmo is around eight years old now. Gizmo is a miniature schnoodle – that's a poodle-schnauzer-mix. He was a rescue from a puppy mill. Now, who wouldn't love that face!? We were looking for a dog for our young son. It had to be a hypoallergenic breed – which meant a breed with hair instead of fur. Both poodles and schnauzers are hair breeds. And, our experience of the breed is that they make amazing companions. Gizmo is a well-behaved, affectionate but not hyper dog. He's so well behaved that he has NEVER chewed on anything that wasn't his. In fact, when we have to replace his chew toy or ball, it takes days to convince him it is okay for him to chew on or play with it. The p-word for this image is "Pooch"

Out and about in the neighborhood, I found some lovely flowers to photograph. I love this patch of pansies. I probably took too many photos of this stretch of my walk when we lived in that neighborhood. In our current neighborhood, residents don't seem to favor pansies the way they did in the old one. For the second p-word, the image is "Pansies"

Near where I live, someone keeps a pair wild ponies. The ponies are from out west and the owners are not permitted to harness or break them. They can breed them, however to stock they are allowed to train and sell. I believe this particular pair are kept as studs. I didn't photograph it, but they were definitely NOT geldings. As I was walking past, one of them meandered over to say hello. "Pony" is the p-word for the third shot

On a trip to the zoo in Asheboro, North Carolina, I took this picture of an elephant. The Asheboro zoo is one of the best zoos I've visited. As most Americans have done, I've been to zoos in whatever state I lived in or visited. Of the zoos I've been too, I recommend the zoos in Memphis, Tennessee and the one in Asheboro. As a matter of the look of animals' health and general state of living, I would caution against visiting the St. Lous, Missouri zoo; I found it a rather sad comparison to other zoos. This photography is the perfectly posed "pachyderm" for a little alliteration, and for p-word number four

A walk along the trail near Bass Lake, North Carolina produced this shot. Bass Lake is a small pavilion, fishing dock, and walking trail near Fuquay-Varina (pronounced Few-kway Vah-ree-na), North Carolina. "Path" for my fifth p-word image

This is a shot of my son. We stopped to get some photos for a headshot to use in an article, for a local newspaper, about his AHA charitable collection achievement; he collected more for the charity than any elementary schooler in our county. The p-word for sixth and final image is "Pensive" because he was looking rather pensive in the photograph.
