On this occasion, I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. His name is Oney, and he is a man of middle age (around 50 years old). He is truly a very kind and good-hearted person. The thing is, he has lived a life full of excesses, which is why he looks the way he does today.
En esta ocasión quiero presentarles a un amigo. Su nombre es Oney, es una persona de mediana edad (aproximadamente 50 años) que, en realidad, es muy amable y buena persona. El detalle es que ha llevado una vida de muchos excesos, los cuales lo han llevado a verse de la manera en que lo hace hoy en día.
At times, just seeing him might surprise you, but those of us who have known him for years can assure you that he is a very pleasant, kind, and hardworking person who always helps his community and anyone who needs his assistance.
A veces puede sorprender solo con verlo, pero los que tenemos años de conocerlo podemos asegurarles que es una persona muy agradable, amable y trabajadora, que siempre está dispuesto a colaborar con su comunidad y con cualquiera que necesite su ayuda.
He has recently stopped using many substances, as these and some past situations have led him to suffer from epileptic seizures. Nevertheless, he has shown great determination and willpower to stay away from drugs and alcohol.
Actualmente ha dejado de consumir muchas sustancias, ya que estos excesos y algunas situaciones le han provocado ataques epilépticos. Sin embargo, ha tenido la constancia y la fuerza de voluntad para mantenerse alejado de las drogas y el alcohol.
I have never been one to judge or categorize anyone, as I too have made decisions that may not have been the best (who's perfect?), but I can celebrate the efforts of those who try their best to leave behind their vices.
Nunca he sido una persona que pueda catalogar o clasificar a alguien, ya que también he tomado algunas decisiones que tal vez no fueron las mejores (¿quién es perfecto?), pero sí puedo celebrar que estas personas pongan de su parte y den lo mejor de sí mismas para superar estos vicios.
