This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
There were some rainy days so I did not go out at all to the patio of my house, however, I peeked a little from time to time waiting for the rain to stop and see if there was any small insect that came to photograph, but it did not happen, so I was about to enter my house until out of the corner of my eye I saw something on a branch of the tangerine tree, which at first I thought it was a mato, a lizard quite common in Venezuela and that you can find in any yard, but I also thought for a moment that it was a snake, until I could get in a good position to observe it well, although I must say that it was still far away from me, to my surprise, it turned out to be a chameleon or at least that was what I thought at first.
Hubieron algunos días lluviosos por lo cual no salía del todo al patio de mi casa, sin embargo, me asomaba un poco de vez en cuando esperando que la lluvia cesara y observar si había algún pequeño insecto que llegara para fotografiar, pero no sucedió así, por lo que estaba apunto de entrar a mi casa hasta que de reojo vi algo en una rama del árbol de mandarinas, lo cual al principio pensé que era un mato, una lagartija bastante común en Venezuela y que la encuentras en cualquier patio, pero también pensé por un momento que era una serpiente, hasta que pude colocarme en una buena posición para observarlo bien, aunque debo decir que igual se encontraba lejos de mí, para mi sorpresa, resultó ser un camaleón o al menos eso fue lo que pensé al principio.
I was taking many pictures while the rain allowed me to do so, because I had to take out the camera to get it as close as possible and better capture what I thought was a chameleon and so I was for a long time, the little friend was quiet, just looked to the sides and moved very slowly so it allowed me to capture different movements to perfection and I really liked the pictures, photographing nature is such a nice way to appreciate the world more and more.
Estuve haciéndole muchas fotografías mientras que la lluvia me lo permitía, porque tenía que sacar la cámara para acercarla lo más posible y captar mejor al que pensaba era un camaleón y así estuve por mucho rato, el pequeño amigo estuvo tranquilo, simplemente veía hacía los lados y se movía con mucha lentitud por lo que me permitió capturar distintos movimientos a la perfección y realmente me gustaron mucho las fotografías, fotografiar la naturaleza es una forma tan linda de apreciar el mundo cada vez más.
While editing the pictures, I had the doubt if it really was a chameleon and thanks to my good trusty friend Google, I came to the conclusion that it really is not a chameleon, but the funny thing is that it says it is a false chameleon, so I was not so crazy to think it really was a chameleon, it turns out to be a Polychris marmoratus which as I said, it is called a false chameleon because it can also change its color to a dark brown, something quite curious honestly.
Mientras editaba las fotografías, tenía la duda si realmente era un camaleón y gracias a mi buen amigo confiable Google, llegué a la conclusión de que realmente no es un camaleón, pero lo curioso es que dice que es un falso camaleón, por lo cual no estaba tan loco al pensar que realmente era un camaleón, resulta ser un Polychris marmoratus que como dije, se le llama falso camaleón porque también puede cambiar su color a un marrón oscuro, algo bastante curioso honestamente.
