I think social media started from a real need of connection, but it got hijacked at some point when some individuals figured out they could make heaps of money through it.

And then they started pouring money into psychological research to find out what makes us stare at a screen for hours and hours.

And now, here we are.

The only solution I see is education. But who cares about education when you've got all those stupid funny videos on TikTok?

The bigger picture is that our brains haven't changed that much since 10.000 years ago, and that's why they get exploited by the technology created today. I think understanding this is the first step. But again, who cares? The majority doesn't, for sure. And the minority is ignored.

Oh, there's so much to discuss on this topic, but I'll stop here.

It's sad, when you think that few people understand what's happening and that even fewer care about the matter.
