April 18 of HiveBloPoMo and the prompt is - National stress awareness day

check it out here .Instead of writing about this topic - yeah, I know I'm doing this again - I will point you towards today's HiveBloPoMo article by @the-bitcoin-dood because he wrote some good stuff about it. If you have a moment, please

All I will say about the topic of stress is that I've been there and I am very happy that I am no longer in that situation. Of course, there will always be stressful moments but that is completely normal and not what this day is about. 'Nuff said - go, read the dood's post! - an on to something else.

And this divider here should be a dead giveaway. Today is

#MonomadMonday

And I just checked and I haven't ever posted any of my many black and white New York City photos yet. I am living about 45 minutes, depending on traffic, away from the big City and as a photographer and German with overseas visitors I went there many times, always as a tourist with camera in hand.

So, I am going to start and share some of those photos with you. Fair warning - a lot of them I converted to monochrome because - I like it that way.

And I am going to start this NYC journey with my favorite building ever. The

Chrysler Building

I don't know when it happened but I have loved the building's architecture for a long time. I always see it and point it out in movies. And when I'm in the city I'm like o.k. 43rd - it is around here somewhere, look up. And stand in awe...

Okay, okay, I know this looks nothing like the Chrysler Building you know. But this is how it looks when you stand right at it's entrance, well, on the other side of 43rd.

The day I took that photo I discovered that you can actually go inside, into the lobby. OMG. I did go in and here are a couple of pics in color - sort of because there's also a lot of black marble in the lobby. It is magnificent. You can't go up but you may marvel in the grandeur.

I can't really describe it but I was really a little bit giddy seeing this building and marveling at it - sigh. I think only people from out of state and especially out of the country can appreciate the grandeur of this building and understand how I felt. I'll leave it at that.

Here is another picture of just the famous top of the Chrysler building. Those arcs that the building is famous for. I would so very much love to get up there... even though I got vertigo.

And this picture here is a photo that I have actually sold many times as a fine art print. I never quite understood what people saw in this particular photo but one buyer told me that it reminded them of a very personal moment and my photo reminded them of it. That's good enough for me.

This photo was taken basically from outside the Grand Central Library and I was walking towards the Chrysler Building. But the Library is for another post. Here are a couple more Chrysler Building photos for you. First from the inside:

And the last photo here was taken with that Lensbaby Tilt-Shift Lens I mentioned in a previous post. Only this time with a star lens making the bokeh star-shaped. I love this pic in color or b&w - doesn't matter and its focus is clearly on The Chrysler Building.

And with that - my fangirling over the Chrylser Building is done for today. Have a great day/evening!

Thanks for the shout! Much appreciated. Great snaps. I'm thinking about a trip to the big apple sometime this summer. Not sure about that one though. Loved the photos!

Let me know when you do, who knows - maybe we could meet. It has been since before the pandemic that I visited NYC = way.too.long!!

Will do... I'd actually love to find some kind of crypto meetup if I went. That would be pretty cool.
