It has been too long that I posted any black and white photography, especially in monomad. But during our recent trip to the Azores we stayed in the city of Ponta Delgada right in the centre, a pedestrian zone.
We walked the streets quite a bit and everywhere we went we came across these beautiful mosaic cobblestone streets or sidewalks. I was fascinated by them and took many pictures.
Since the stones themselves were black, grey and white they naturally lent themselves to be converted into monochrome pictures.
The first two here show the view down the pedestrian zone. Somewhere along there is the entrance to our hotel.
These next few photos were taken along the promenade by the harbor. You can walk or bicycle there for kilometres. It's beautiful and during June it wasn't very crowded at all.
The picture on top is also along the promenade but with all the curves very different to the straight lines. The pattern reminds me of ocean waves.
And last but not least, on the left, this is a sidewalk on a narrow cobblestone street just around the corner from the pedestrian zone. How wonderful is it to have such a beautiful patterned surface to walk on instead of the grey concrete we have here (if we're lucky)? This pattern just begged for a photo and I was too happy to oblige.
And that's it for today for my black and white photography.
But I also wanted to mention another thing that I haven't been doing a while: powering up Hive. so today is the day. I have been selling a lot of my Splinterlands assets because my heart is just no longer in the game. And instead of having all the DEC or Hive sitting around doing nothing I powered up a bit:
Have a great rest of your day!
Cheers,

Typical "Portuguese sidewalk" that in 2021 began to be registered in the Inventory of Portuguese Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The most used stone is basalt, they are darker and look great in black and white.
Thank you very much for this feedback. I almost figured as much but didn't look into it. I, honestly, love the looks and feel about it.
There is a lot in Portugal. Authentic works of art on the sidewalks.
Hopefully, one day I'll make it to Portugal. In the meantime I'm fairly sure that I'll be going back to the Azores. It's beautiful there.
I loved these photos! 😍👏
Thank you, I'm glad you do
