With this popular saying I would like to introduce you to my grandson, little Carlos, and share an amusing anecdote with you.
When Carlitos was just 4 years old, I put in his hands a camera that I managed to recover and leave working at 100%, although its appearance was still quite precarious. I taught him the basics so he could press the button and take a picture. He learned quickly, as only children know how, absorbing everything like a sponge.
The funny thing is that no one around him believed that the camera actually worked. Relatives and neighbors posed for him in his most childish facets, taking the seriousness down a couple of notches and making all kinds of faces, convinced that it was just a game. But just as the flash went off, their faces transformed into surprise and amazement. Yes, the camera did fire.
The photos were some of the most fun I've ever seen. People interacting with a child with no filters, no forced poses, just letting themselves go. They were great. It's a shame those images were lost, but at least I have these portraits I took of my grandson that I want to share with you.

Con este refrán popular quiero presentarles a mi nieto, el pequeño Carlos, y compartirles una divertida anécdota.
Cuando Carlitos tenía apenas 4 años, le puse en las manos una cámara que logré recuperar y dejar funcionando al 100%, aunque su aspecto seguía siendo bastante precario. Le enseñé lo básico para que pudiera apretar el botón y tomar una foto. Aprendió rápido, como solo los niños saben hacerlo, absorbiendo todo como una esponja.
Lo curioso es que nadie en su entorno creía que la cámara realmente funcionaba. Familiares y vecinos posaban para él en sus facetas más infantiles, bajándole un par de rayitas a la seriedad y haciendo todo tipo de muecas, convencidos de que era solo un juego. Pero justo cuando el flash se disparaba, sus rostros se transformaban en sorpresa y asombro. Sí, la cámara sí disparaba.
Las fotos fueron de lo más divertido que he visto. Las personas interactuando con un niño sin filtros, sin poses forzadas, simplemente dejándose llevar. Eran geniales. Es una lástima que esas imágenes se perdieran, pero al menos me quedan estos retratos que le hice a mi nieto y que quiero compartir con ustedes.
