I returned to that corner of the city more times than I can count. The first time I saw it, I knew it had something special: an old wooden house, worn down by time, trapped between two concrete buildings that seemed to be swallowing it. The light wasn’t right that day, and the composition didn’t quite fit. But something inside me told me I had to come back. So I did, again and again, watching how the sun changed its angle, how the shadows played on the weathered facade, how the sky provided different backdrops depending on the whims of the weather.
It wasn’t the first time photography tested my patience. Deserted streets at dawn, corners full of stories that only reveal themselves at the perfect moment, clouds that dramatize a scene in a matter of minutes. The wait always makes sense when the frame finally aligns with the emotion you envisioned. That was the case with that house and with many other images that have come from my endless walks through the city. Sometimes, the perfect moment takes days, weeks, or even months to arrive. But when it does, photography stops being just an image and becomes a testimony to time and persistence.
When I finally took the shot I had been waiting for, I knew it instantly. The texture of the wood, the deep shadows, the sky full of drama—everything was in place. It wasn’t luck; it was insistence. Every photograph that’s worth it is a reminder that patience is just as important as the eye that observes. And so, with the satisfaction of having captured that unique moment, I turned the page and started looking for the next image, still waiting to be revealed.

"La Persistencia del Instante: La Paciencia Tras la Fotografía Perfecta"
Volví a ese rincón de la ciudad más veces de las que puedo contar. La primera vez que lo vi, supe que tenía algo especial: una casa de madera vieja, desgastada por el tiempo, atrapada entre dos edificios de concreto que parecían devorarla. La luz no era la adecuada aquel día, y la composición no terminaba de encajar. Pero algo en mi interior me decía que debía volver. Así que regresé, una y otra vez, observando cómo el sol cambiaba su ángulo, cómo las sombras jugaban en la fachada destartalada, cómo el cielo ofrecía diferentes fondos según el capricho del clima.
No era la primera vez que la fotografía me ponía a prueba con su paciencia. Calles desiertas al amanecer, esquinas llenas de historias que solo se revelan en el momento preciso, nubes que dramatizan una escena en cuestión de minutos. La espera siempre tiene sentido cuando el encuadre finalmente se alinea con la emoción que imaginaste. Así fue con aquella casa, y con muchas otras imágenes que han surgido de mis caminatas interminables por la ciudad. A veces, el momento perfecto tarda días, semanas o incluso meses en llegar. Pero cuando lo hace, la fotografía deja de ser solo una imagen para convertirse en un testimonio del tiempo y la insistencia.
Cuando finalmente disparé la foto que había estado esperando, lo supe de inmediato. La textura de la madera, las sombras profundas, el cielo cargado de dramatismo; todo estaba en su lugar. No fue suerte, fue insistencia. Cada fotografía que vale la pena es un recordatorio de que la paciencia es tan importante como el ojo que observa. Y así, con la satisfacción de haber atrapado ese instante único, pasé la página y comencé a buscar la siguiente imagen que aún estaba por revelarse.
