The county line is a funny thing. Most people don't notice it at all. In fact I bet most people are completely clueless about it. The two counties are actually a lot different in some weird ways. The most noticeable for me was growing up right on the Los Angeles side is our schools do not interact at all. We don't meet people growing up in school living super close to me on the other side of the "orange curtain." The other thing is when people lump Long Beach in with the city of Los Angeles... Don't do it if you ever come to Long Beach! Haha
