Hail to the Hive!
This is Braunston Junction. A crossroads (or crosscanals) if you will. We have been in all 3 directions at this junction since being on Badger the Narrowboat and today find ourselves here once more as we are preparing to leave tomorrow morning.
Baci in April we came through here on our way to Leicester, which is our plan again tomorrow. After that we passed through here on our way to Stratford upon Avon and then once again on our way to getting the boat hull blacked in Streethay. It has become familiar but on this occasion as my friend @vanbliss has a brilliant little Coffee Horse Trailer Stall we have taken time to walk aroundthe place (fueled on caffeine thanks to @vanbliss).
I love the wrought Iron footbridges here that allow you to traverse the junction while walking from the boat to wither the marina or usually in my case the coffee trailer. They have a cool look all covered in turf spanning the canal.
As i wandered to get my fix of the liquid black gold I made a mental note to return to take some snaps realising they'd be a great #monomad capture.
I would normally only select a few but I can't decide on this occasion so tossed in the lot for your viewing pleasure.
I ove the signage also demonstrating just how much of the country you can still reach by these hand dug 200 year old waterways.
We still have so much more to explore....

Boating travelogue is an intriguing thing, aerial shots are a great addition, but what about maps? ... https://www.google.com/maps/d/ easy to do. then, probably, a screenshot and uploding into a post as an image. A thought out of loud.
I have heard about canals in England but I have no idea where they start and where they end... I had no idea where Leicester is located before I checked the map a minute ago. 🙂 Probably, many people don't know.
