Hail to the Hive!
Well today was a complete change again. The weather became colder, more windy & rain soaked and we had 3 swing bridges and 11 canal locks to get through. So of course it rained ughhhh.
However if It wasn’t possible to capture the splendid countryside going past ( as in the grey and rain and wind it really didn’t do it justice ) then how about my favourite canal topic….. yup you guessed it Bridges!
Now Bridge 27 on the Llangollan Canal wasn’t exactly a tunnel but it did give you that vibe. I also loved the brickwork under the arch as it’s twisted as the bridge crosses at an angle. It’s engineering excellence, superb!
It almost looks like some sort of temporal wormhole from Star Trek or something.
Emerging on the other side there are some interesting little houses and another bloddy lock to do haha. Mustn’t grumble. All said and done today we will be over 20m higher than when we started the day, which is weird for boats eh? But not on the canals it’s not 😃
Fascinating eloquence in these photos of bridges... The complexity they provide is exquisite...
Can’t beat the texture of bricks and stone offset with water. I am spoiled in this environment
:) In another one of your posts I read that bridges are something like one of your "fetishes" ha ha ha.... I applaud that way of enjoying photography!.... Bravo! ... Keep shoting!!!!
It’s so true. 😍 i love them haha
