Hail to the Hive!
A simple sundial. A time piece of old that allows the sun to cast a shadow to give an indication as to what time of day it is.
The universe at work, keeping time. Real time as it is the motion of things celestial.
When I look at a sundial it's not really the time of day that is on my mind. it triggers my imagination and I find myself thinking about the universe and all the celestial bodies moving through the infinite reaches of space.
And yet here on the ground i am staring at a rudimentary time piece and thinking ' what does it matter in the grand scheme of things what time of day it is? '
Insignificant we are in the enourmity of space and time yet we are so focused on our little lives that the time of day holds such importance to us.
Meetings, schedules, deadlines. The Stars and planets don't care one bit and will continue their universal dance long after we have returned our borrowed carbon back to the galaxies.

Totally agree with you, we return to star dust whether we like it or not, time and tide waits for no one....
Impressed by this sundial in black and white showing an age when people used the celestial being to navigate or tell time.
