Hail to the Hive!
I’m in full on drone addiction mode at the moment as I have the time on my hands and a very convenient location to fly around. These devices are amazingly simple to fly and produce some stunning visuals. With todays flight the clouds were main act and deserved a little more attention than in my previous posts and I could think of no better medium than #monochrome to really make the most of the patterns and light.
While capturing images and altering the angle of the camera on the gimble I purposely tilted it a little further up for many shots to capture more sky and just a sliver of the ground, for a little perspective.
This was done in an effort to really bring home that ‘big sky’ feel that I saw with my own eye balls so to speak.
And in Black and white the mood is that of an ominous sky giving you that all powerful massiveness of nature and it’s limitless power. The sheer scale of it is mind boggling.
I managed to fly the tiny drone approx 1.5 kilometers away from where I stood on the rooftop to get closer to the mountains and completely out of the housing scheme so there was only greenery, mountains and sky around it and below it. Ao I had a dual perspective really. The one from where I stood and the one through the eye of the drone visable on my i pad screen. It’s a strange feeling sometimes to realise you are actually controlling this little aircraft and that it is really there, far from where you are stood.
Our eyes are so used to everything in color. The black and white brings out and amplifies the look of the sky & cloud to be more dramatic! Very nice!👍
This is why i love black and white. My favourite photography medium for sure
