Hail to the Hive!
As the day of our leaving this part of the UK is looming ever closer I am taking the opportunity to soak up as much of these beautiful surroundings as I can and not just around the canal area. It’s just stunning and of course a rich source for monochromatic majesty.
With clouds like this as a ceiling my mind immediately saw the black and white potential for these country lane views and they didn’t disappoint.
These shots were all taken in the Devizes area about a 20 to 30 minute walk away from the Marina where the boat is moored and about 10 minutes from where the Chalk horse we visited recently is located
The weather has finally started to change and ‘Spring has sprung’ as the saying goes making these walks through the English countryside hugely enjoyable and refreshing as there’s a crisp freshness tomthe air as winter tries to cling on for all it’s worth but the sun is now starting to flex its muscles and take control. It’s a wonderful time of year.
These last two shots were taken roughly in the same spot but a few hours apart and it’s interesting to note the contrast in clouds and their appearance and how that changes the feel of the shot. Simple things make a difference and that is true of so much in life I have found.
Looking forward to taking walks around the canal areas we visit as we head out on our new adventure very soon.

Yup love being a nomad. There’s something about the sense of freedom to roam thats good for the soul. It’s alsonice to be rooted in a good place though to be fair
