Venezuela and its capital Caracas have many places where you can learn about its rich and glorious history of independence, one of them is the one I present below, the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park or as it is popularly known: Parque del Este (East Park).
There, in an artificial lagoon is anchored a replica of the Leander Ship, the one used by the Venezuelan hero Francisco de Miranda in his first expedition to the country in 1806 with which he sought to act to liberate the countries of the region from the Spanish crown.
In New York he had obtained the economic resources to undertake this task, which allowed him to rent this ship which he baptized Leander and disembark in Venezuela with hundreds of men, and also to bring the proposal of a national flag, which is the tricolor (yellow, blue and red) that identifies the country to this day.

This replica of the also called "Liberty Ship" was inaugurated on October 12, 2011 and since then it has become one of the main attractions of Parque del Este. It was built in real size and with materials used at the time, such as carob and teak wood. Inside and outside, the guides explain the history and show visitors the areas of the ship recreated with props such as the soldiers' uniforms, the printing press brought to spread the emancipation message, ammunition, cannons, among other interesting objects.

The most exciting part of this visit that brings you closer to the beginnings of the Venezuelan Independence process seemed to me to be stepping on the bow and touching the rudder, it makes you imagine more clearly what those days were like, perhaps navigating in turbulent waters and with very ambitious and risky ideas to materialize.

Always in my plans when I go to Caracas, is to visit this park, but there are always some unforeseen events that do not give me a chance, I hope another time to go exclusively to visit this place and to photograph it. Greetings !
This park is one of my favorite places in Caracas, I've visited it since I was a child, maybe that's why I also have a special affection for it.
Of course, this is a great place to take pictures! The limit is only your creativity hehehe, I hope you go there soon and bring us your look!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got an important support from the community. However, it lost its funding few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.
May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
