Today I went to fetch some items the market, as it was quite windy, I sat near a burning furnace just to warm up. It was a bhunja shop furnace, who used to roast different items for snacks purpose. The furnace was empty and I was happily warming up. Just then an old men came started cleaning the furnace area. He was not the shop owner, but the way he was blowing air from Mouth, I was sure he was upto something.
It was cold today, sonhe wrapped himself cokpletslly in woolen shawls. Once he cleaned the surface, he took out a polythene, having some wheat dough. He started placing it on the cleaned furnace surface.
It was actually a staple food for poor popularly known as Litti. The wheat dough is actually filled with roasted gram powder along with other ingredients. He wanted to bake those on the furnace heat along the mud area. It was an intelligent way of cooking. These dough needed to be baked on tye surface. He kept it and went for his work, he returned later to move it upside down for all round baking.
It is an intelligent way of making his meals for the day. By doing sonhe is not disturbing anyone and in between he will get hos food ready. What I like about these poor people are that they are ready to help each other. There is alwsys a sense of brotherhood without anything in expectation. These people live life more freely and enjoy every moment. The furnace actually caters multi purpose requirement.
It was not the only furnace on the street shop, there is another tea shop adjacent to this snack shop, who too operate his own furnace for making tea. People find it easy to use these furnace then cooking gas, as these are more cost effective.
These images from street of small town of India does show some completing lifestyle. This are my entry to #monomad challenge for the @blackandwhite community.
In good faith - Peace!
