This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.
Hello and greeting everyone in the Black and White community. I hope that all of you are having a great day. Today I will share another black and white indoor studio portraiture. This photo session was done after the first pandemic lockdown was lifted. It was hard to find a studio during this time since a lot of them was shut down by the pandemic. Luckily I managed to find a studio that still accepting outside photographer, that is me. While I was in the discussion on renting the studio, I was asked how many of people will be going into the studio and how long will it take for me to do a photoshoot. At first I was only allowed to use it for one hour with limited people inside, three people maximum. That means me including the model and one assistance which was the makeup artist. But the I told the studio owner that I will need more people helping inside the studio and it will take more than an hour for the whole preparation until the photoshoot will be done. I took nearly 30 minutes to convinced the owner that all of us are not infected and are very well healthy and we are using full mask and all the sanitizer. With a person added into the team, it made us four person that are working inside the studio. Luckily the owner agree and allowed us to use the studio for three hours with all access to the lightings.

Meet Meme, she was participating for her Miss Universe Malaysia pageant and one of her task was to take a swimwear photo. So the concept was being proposed by her. She wanted to take a photo with shadows. This was a great challenge for me, as I never taken a single photo in a studio using and available light and shadows. During this time I was still unaware of the continuous lighting that can create artificial shadows. So I had to take one of the studio props which is the coconut leaf and by using the small light inside the studio I made this setup. The light had a very low power and it made me crank up my ISO until it was exceeding the 5000 ISO. I was worried for the photo at first, but after a few adjustment. I barely had my acceptable setting for the photo. I am using a smaller aperture (bigger number) because of my kit lens limitation.

Still using the same setting as before. The result was good in my opinion. Only that it was a little bit hard for me to adjust the shadow from the props. I had to ask for assistance and had them hold the plant props very near to the light source to create much more visible shadows.

This photo was taken in a slightly low ISO and low shutter speed. I never taken a photo below 1 / 100 sec for my shutter speed setting inside a studio before. I was very anxious and worried that the photo will be blurred during the shoot. But then as I took the photo home and send it into my computer for post processing, I was amazed on how good the quality of the raw photo still remain. I am glad that I get to experience this kind of photoshoot. It really gave me a whole set of new technique for shooting with low lighting condition.
Vertical full body shoot : EXIF [ ISO - 3200 | f 4 | 1 / 60 sec | 40mm | 0 step exposure bias ]
As she moved away from the lighting source, I had to lower my shutter speed to gain much more lighting from her body and face. I really had to stay very still for the shoot as I do not have a tripod during that time.

Amazing photos from a beautiful woman
Thank you so much for visiting and commenting my friend. :) yes she is beautiful. 🙏❤️
Great photos, congratulations!
Under the conditions in which you worked we can say that it is a very good job:
Very little, almost no noise, given such a high ISO, of course we haven't seen the photos in RAW, but I think there is not a big difference!
The colors are sharp and the outlines also, let's say that working with 1/100 "forgave" you possible hand shakes.
Kudos also to the model for her innate, elegant, sensuality!
Thank you so much for visiting and for the comment my friend. I had to thank the technology on the gear that had advanced so well and had help a lot on the process. And as you said the model really did a good job 😁😁.

Welcome 🤗🤗
Greetings, friend, this set of photographs turned out very well. I always thought that the best possible lighting was sought in this type of work. Now I know that there is an aspect in which you work with shadows, it turned out quite well.
Hello my friend. Thank you for visiting. Yes the shadow is an important element in photography, its the same as the light too. I rarely do this kind of photoshoot because of I lack a fast lens which make it hard to get much better quality photo.
