This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
Hello friends I want to show you the streets of my city in black and white photography.
It is first mentioned on Christmas Day 1066 in the grant of King Petar Krešimir IV. so it is also called Krešimir's city. Until the plague epidemic in the mid-17th century, it was the largest city on the entire eastern Adriatic coast.
On the edge of the old town on the hill there is the fortress of St. Michael below the fortress is the old town which was surrounded by walls.
A lot of streets have a passage under the houses.
And all the streets lead to the sea, because it was their way out in case of attack and fall of the city, there were boats waiting for them at sea with which they could escape in the worst case, there were hard times and a lot of wars.
The streets are quite narrow and all paved with stone slabs.
This is one of the cities that has the most stairs in the old part of the city in the entire Mediterranean.
City of Šibenik, Dalmatia, Croatia.
... thank you for visiting me ...
