Good evening HIVE people.
As the title suggests, I'm working on a new mini project - A collection of chairs. It'll probably take me some time to gather a sufficient amount, but in the meantime, I want to share with you some favorites of mine from the collection, and tell you a bit about my chair addiction. Although I'm quite unsure about why it's chairs I'm so specifically obsessed about, it's still pretty amusing to experience it while I'm wandering the streets.
These common four-legged pieces of furniture, they act like magnets, whenever I pass by them with a camera in hand (and a heartache whenever I'm empty-handed, like with any other type of FOMO); They always feel so bright with their presence, standing out amidst all the other day-to-day urban objects. It might be the circumstances that brought them there, to stand like that, at that specific spot, in that specific posture - that fascinates me. It might be their mysteriousness, their absence of a concrete story - that drives me to place them in a frame, to make their lack of an explanation for their buisness there even more noticeable and intriguing (or at least I try to).
There's also the fact that I'm a very introverted person. I have quite a hard time meeting new people and dealing with strangers. It's not the end of the world - but it something I try my best to avoid. And so, I occasionally have moments where I wonder if this whole chair obsession could be some kind of a weird therapy I unconsciously created for myself. It might be it - A coping mechanism. A safe link. The next closest thing to a portrait of a human - a portrait of a chair.
It's an interesting observation. I've been haunted by it for some time now. And now I'm curious - Do you have anything like that? Do you photograph anything specific all the time, and if so, have you tried figuring out why? Tell me in the comments.

Chairs?... What an interesting subject to create a photographic series!... Excellent!... I tend to do something similar from time to time but with things such as windows, doors, cats and the like... Well, looks like we have another very creative photographer on #monomad, this just keeps getting better and better! ;)
