The students looked cheerful, happy, and enthusiastic in performing the Rapa'i Geleng art. The lively drum sounds and agile movements created a very festive atmosphere. This performance was showcased by these teenagers at the opening of the school event “Panggung Gembira,” which means “Happy Stage,” at the Tgk. Chiek Oemar Diyan Boarding School in Aceh Besar. Salute to the young generation who continue to preserve Acehnese culture!
The art of playing Rapa’i Geleng is a branch of Acehnese percussion music played by hand. The Rapa’i Geleng art performance is a favorite feature in the event rundown at the opening of various events in Aceh, both large and small.
