Hello and welcome back to all Hivers. Have you ever heard the saying "nature always wins"? Well, it gets as close as possible to this, I guess. In Vietnam, there are some beaches where people simply cut out all the mangrove trees and made a sand beach. Everything is OK until it is not. Mangrove trees ahave huge management and one of them is compacting soil together. When those trees were missing the erosion took place... After the typhoon season, there are fewer beaches. Sand simply dissolves into the sea and even some hotels might be in danger. At Cua Dai beach there was a massive erosion event back in 2017 and the beach literally disappeared. Even hotel resorts were under the water. What you will see in the photos is the aftermath. Engineers trying to battle erosion with Geotubes and pilots. However I am not sure if they will get this battle, but I got some cool shots.
