Good morning, #Monomad friends
This week I had the opportunity to have a dinner with friends in Lisbon. Of course, I took the bus, but I ended up leaving the house early, not only so I wouldn't be late for dinner, but also to walk around a bit earlier, and to enjoy all the magic that downtown Pombalina has to offer those who don't have the time.
Dinner was supposed to be in the Martim Moniz area, but I prefer to walk around downtown and Bairro Alto. I ended up going to Largo de Camões and then down Rua do Carmo to the Teatro Dona Maria area, very close to the suburban train station.
The light reflected off the Portuguese sidewalk was impressive, only possible because it was polished by the constant walking of those who pass by. The whole area is very pleasant, and as the traffic is confined to the more peripheral arteries, pedestrians gain a few degrees of freedom as a result.
The patterns on the sidewalk take on a whole new dimension when photographed in these lighting conditions and in black and white. The intense contrasts of the geometric shapes that have been skillfully laid by true craftsmen give the whole street a special magic.
The quality of the photos isn't the best, as I took them with the camera of a simple cell phone. I know that nowadays there are smartphones with a better lens and a much greater capacity for detail and depth of field, not to mention the impressive saturation and detail obtained.
What about you, do you prefer to walk around cities in the morning and afternoon, or after the sun has gone down?

I hope you enjoyed my post here in the B&W community

Nice pics, even if taken with your phone.
I prefer to walk in town when no one's around, early in the morning is best for me.
Enjoy your day
Great choice! Yes, it is far better in the morning, and much more dramatic, when the rays from the sun start to "write" in the walls and ground!
Have a great week, my friend!
Thank you so much for the curation jlinaresp!
