Hello, friends! Today, I’d like to share some photos that take me back to early spring last year. It was one of those days when a dense fog covered western Ukraine, stretching endlessly over the horizon. Local communities were buzzing about it, so it seemed to span across many kilometers.
Early that morning, I had an errand that required me to travel to the lowlands where the fog was at its thickest. I needed to pick up some wooden planks from the local sawmill to finish a section of the roof that the workers hadn’t completed the previous year. To do this, I had arranged to ride with the owner of the only horse-drawn cart in our part of the village—an iconic figure everyone here knows well.
The morning ride was simply magical. The misty landscape and the rolling hills of Roztochchia, which I’ve mentioned before, looked absolutely enchanting. Naturally, I couldn’t resist taking photos along the way. There’s something about fog that makes everything look surreal and almost otherworldly.
I sat beside the coachman (or "firman," as we call him here) on the cart as we slowly made our way to the sawmill. We chatted about all sorts of things, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful I’d dressed warmly because the dampness was chilling to the bone. Once we arrived, we loaded a few planks onto the cart (if you can even call it "loading"), and then we headed back just as leisurely as before.
By the time we returned home, the fog had started to lift, and by midday, it was nearly gone. Later, I read in the news that near Lviv, a massive 27-car accident occurred on a bridge because of the fog. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt. By the afternoon, the sun had come out, and although it remained chilly, the day turned out to be quite bright.
Looking at these photos now, I can still feel the calm and mystical atmosphere that the fog brought to everything around. Have you ever experienced such enchanting weather? Feel free to share your own stories or thoughts below! 😊

It must be very cold there, I can't imagine how it would be to spend a night there.
