Love Unconditionally

1 John 4:7-8 (NIV)

  1. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
  2. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

This world is desperate to experience the love and compassion of our God. I believe that, more than any other attribute, our world is crying out to see people with compassion, people who love unconditionally, people who will take the time to help their peers on this planet.

We are all so busy that we have our own priorities, plans and important agendas, and very often our attitude is: I don't want to be bothered. Don't bother me with your problems, I have enough problems of my own. However, Scripture says: "But whoever has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?" I think it's interesting that God's Word implies that we all have a heart, but the decision whether it will be compassionate or not is ours.

Furthermore, the Bible says that we should walk in love, guided by love, and following its commandments of love. When God puts love and compassion in your heart for a person, He is offering you the opportunity to do something important in their life. You have to learn to follow love instead of ignoring it; act what you feel because someone needs what you have.

Thank you for sharing this. Love is the greatest quality in the bible. And, we, as believers, are expected to have it.
