Deuteronomy 31 verse 6 declares a powerful promise from God.
Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
This verse, spoken by Moses to the Israelites, reassures us that no matter the challenges we face, God is always with us.
- God's Presence in the Life of Joshua
When Moses was preparing to pass leadership to Joshua, he encouraged him with these words.
Joshua had an immense task, to lead Israel into the promised land, facing strong enemies and fortified cities. However, God's promise assured Joshua of victory, not because of his strength,
but because of God's presence.
Joshua 1 verse 9*, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever
you go.
Indeed, Joshua trusted God, and the walls of Jericho fell, Joshua 6, proving that when we rely on God, no obstacle is too great.
- David's Courage Against Goliath Another example of God's faithfulness is
David's battle against Goliath.
The Israelites, including King Saul, were terrified of the Philistine giant. But young David, filled with courage, declared, 1 Samuel 17 verse 45,
You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.
David did not rely on his own strength but trusted that God was with him. With one stone, he defeated Goliath, proving that God's presence gives us victory over fear.
- God's Presence in the Fiery Furnace Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced a terrifying situation when King Nebuchadnezzar commanded them to worship a golden statue or be thrown into a Even in the face of death, they remained courageous, saying,
Daniel 3 verses 17 to 18, The God we serve is able to deliver us from the blazing furnace, but even if he does not, we want you to know, your majesty, that we will not serve your gods.
When they were thrown into the fire, the king saw a fourth man walking with them,
God himself. Daniel 3 verse 25. They were unharmed, showing that God never abandons his faithful ones.
- Jesus promised to be with us.
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus reassured his disciples.
Matthew 28 verse 20, And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age. Just as God was with Joshua, David, and Daniel's friends, he is with us today.
In moments of fear, we must hold on to his promise.
He will never leave us nor forsake us. Life presents many challenges, but as believers, we can remain strong and courageous.
We are never alone. God is with us in every battle, and in every trial and moment of uncertainty. Like Joshua, David, and the three Hebrew men, let us trust God fully,
knowing that his presence is our greatest source of strength.
