How to Trust God's Promises in Difficult Times.
Trusting God's promises during difficult times can feel overwhelming, but it is one of the most powerful ways to experience His peace and faithfulness.
The Bible assures us that God's Word is reliable, inspired, and preserved throughout time, offering us hope in life's darkest moments. The Bible, a foundation you can trust. The Bible is not just a book, it is the inspired Word of God.
Its historical reliability and fulfilled prophecies show us that it is trustworthy. For example, Isaiah prophesied about Jesus' life and death 700 years before it happened,
Isaiah 53, and those events were fulfilled in the Gospels. This reliability matters because God's promises in the Bible are not empty words.
Numbers 23:19 reminds us that God is not human, that He should lie,
not a human being, that He should change His mind.
Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?
If God has always kept His promises throughout history, He will keep His promises to you too, holding on to promises in tough times. When life is hard, it's easy to feel like God is silent or distant. But this is where faith becomes real.
Hebrews 11 verse 1, defines faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Trusting God's promises means believing His Word is true, even when circumstances suggest otherwise.
One promise to hold on to is "Romans 8 verse 28*, which says, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
Even in difficult seasons, God works behind the scenes for your good. Think of a tapestry. The back of the tapestry looks messy with knots and threads going in every direction, but the front reveals a beautiful picture.
In difficult times, we only see the messy side, but God sees the finished masterpiece. Strengthening your trust through prayer and scripture. The more you spend time in God's Word and prayer, the stronger your trust in His promises will grow.
Psalm 119 verse 105 says,
God's promises illuminate our way when we feel lost or afraid. For example, if you're struggling with fear, meditate on Isaiah 41 verse 10,
So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Praying this verse can bring comfort and remind you of God's presence.
Resting in God's faithfulness.
Finally, remember that God is faithful.
Lamentations 3 verses 22 to 23 says,
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
Great is your faithfulness.
Trusting God's promises means resting in the knowledge that He will never abandon you, no matter how difficult life becomes.
By trusting the reliability of the Bible, meditating on God's promises, and strengthening your faith through prayer, you can anchor your heart in God's faithfulness.
Remember, His promises are true and He will see you through.
