Hello, friends!
This morning, I want to share what I learned from our Bible study. It was so a profound lesson I had, and it was challenging as a believer. Living a life of Holiness is very important. I got to understand that, Holiness is not about wearing decent dressing from head to toe, walking as if you are Holy. Some people have set themselves apart not to commit adultery, fornication, lasciviousness, or hatred, but they haven't holiness in their minds, so this is totally not Holiness but self Holiness, which has nothing to do with the pattern of God.
St. Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
St. Mark 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
St. Mark 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Jesus says, that impurity and sin start in the mind of a person before the action. Whatever thing we have in our minds, good or evil, will always influence our actions, that's why we need to be positive on the inside.
What is Holiness
Holiness starts in the mind before action first. This means that we should always start in the mind of a believer and let the thought of good deeds and good intentions generate from our minds.
Holiness is detaching from our desires, which will not add any value to our lives, and clinching to the desires and wishes of God. Following God's pattern and His ways
Our hearts determine the direction of our lives, and by keeping our hearts, intent, and thoughts Holy, our outcome will be positive.
In the case of Moses in the Bible, He started well by following God's pattern and wanting to become like Christ. It came to the point where his thoughts were changed to something different, and his actions spoke of his thoughts, which didn't land him well. He went out of God's plan.
Holiness is becoming like Christ in your mind, thinking like, walking like him, and doing things like Him.
God has a plan for the creation in His mind. He sat down and wondered what the people would be like; from the first day of creation, he had already predestinated the creation in His mind; he then made a move, that is, taking action to fulfill what was in His mind. All the plans were actualized through the influence of His thought. This is how he fulfills his purpose.
Let's be passionately Holy for God's purpose to be revealed.
Thank you
