You ever tell God you want the best of something?
Like, I want the best of this. Well, I told God that the other day. I said, God, I want the best you got. He said, I am the best you got. And I got so caught up looking for a miracle, looking for a blessing.
I forgot that he is the source of everything that I'm asking for. Anything that he sends me is a resource. A resource that I should be using somehow, some way to give the glory back to him.
Nothing wrong with wanting nice things, having desires and hopes. But if you love God like you say you do, you should be looking for him in the center of anything that he blesses you with. A relationship, a friendship, finances.
How can I honor him with the kingdom? How can I demonstrate the love of God in whatever situation that comes my way? How can I spend my time with God while having this thing to do?
Nothing wrong with wanting God's best, but remember that he is God, so he is the best. And not only did that humble me and remind me that God is faithful and that God is so much bigger than everything that I'm asking him for. But it reminded me that if I have him, I have everything that I need.
Matthew 6, 33, seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And all these things will be added unto you.
Not everything that you might want right now. But the more you seek him, the more you'll want him. Because you're seeking after righteousness, not your own desires.
And little bit by little bit, what you want turns into what God wants for you.
And since you know he only wants the best for you, you start to desire the things that are best for you. Because he knows who's best and he loves you.
