God does not want us to feel guilty
God has no interest in you feeling guilty
Guilt does not deliver you
Guilt will not set you free
Guilt is what convinces you that you should separate yourself from God, because God wants nothing to do with you. What God wants you to feel is conviction.
There is a difference between conviction and guilt. Conviction is what draws you to God. Guilt is what pushes you away from God. Conviction is what tells you that you need God. Guilt is what convinces you that God does not want you.
God does not want something to do with someone like me. Do you know what I've done?
That thing that is telling you that God wants nothing to do with you is not the Spirit of God. It's a spirit from hell. God has no desire in making you feel guilty. It is conviction that leads to repentance. He wants you to be convicted and then you will be led to repentance.
