1 Corinthians 9:9
For it is written in the Law of Moses: “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.”[a] Is it about oxen that God is concerned?
In this passage of the Bible, God intentionally used the ox as an example for the theme of that scripture. The ox represents a beast of burden and signifies servanthood.
This should be the same way the scripture have to be understood. You calling yourself a minister of the gospel, do you see yourself when you stand before the people of God as the servant of God and men?
Before you begin to consider yourself too important, you must first confirm if you are serving for your own interests or that of God, and also the people he has put under you to lead. Your major concern should not be what a mortal man can do for you, it should be what you can do for God only.
Your interest should be in what God has to do through to the people that he has placed under you to lead. As a minister, your primary attitude must always be service to God. Allow God to use you, and also let him to be your ultimate rewarder, not a man or anybody else. It pays to serve the Lord.
