Every year, we get together in the Kingdom Discord Channel, and start reading the bible together...
It's quite an adventure and I know personally, I really enjoy it. Reading as a community and seeing every member progress through Scripture is rewarding. And we've been doing this for a few years now.
It's been put on my heart though, to do a little bit more and push myself this year....Let me explain :)
So while reading the bible is cool and all, especially from Genesis to Revelation....How about doing it more than once per year?
O.k, that sounds like a lot...
I just did a quick little search on how many words that is....And this is what Google told me:
The King James Bible contains 783,137 words.
If I read about 4-5 chapters a day, I usually get through these plans in exactly 365 days.
Now try to do that multiple times a year???
A few reasons why I want to do this:
I just wanna focus man! I literally feel like this world is getting uglier and uglier, and what does the bible tell us? We need to focus on good things! So if my nose is deep in the bible as much as possible, instead of scrolling social media....It's a win.
This is a very important verse for me....
I truly believe, we are living very close to the end of time. And the bible says that we will be put in front of judges to give an answer for what we believe. So we won't have access to Google, AI or even a physical copy of the bible.
We need to know this stuff!
So that's biblical reasons why I want to stick my nose in the bible a lot more than I have been....Here's the Jongo reason...

It's actually one I've been looking for and it finally arrived at my house this weekend.

I plan on doing a much more in depth review of it, as I fire my bible reviews back up in a week or so, but this is a big change from yours truly and kind of why I'm excited to start reading the bible (again) this year!

I'm pretty much a KJV kinda guy. It's the translation I came to learn of Christ with so it will always have a special place in my heart. But I wanted to try something different...
Mainly, this is my reading project for the year. So this isn't a bible I'm using to study from, the KJV will always be that, but this is going to become my daily reader.
I'm still in the textus receptus in the greek manuscripts, but I heard something a few weeks ago that really hit me...The people that translated this version, spoke the english I actually use. That hit me....
Hey I'm not one of those guys that thinks any one version will lead to damnation (except the Message lol) but we all have our preferences....
So let's see how it goes....I read Genesis 1-3 and Matthew 1 already, and will keep going tonight as well. So for those keeping track:
- Reading through the bible in the 'Blended' plan with the Kingdom community
- Reading through the bible in the 'OT / NT' plan individually
- Still reading about 3-4 theological books as well each month
I'm taking Philippians 4:8 quite literally lol

I think it's great that you're reading the Bible more. It's nice to have a goal like that. Maybe you can also try reading with even more friends to share your thoughts and learn more. The path is narrow but leads to great glory
Yeah we do that in the Kingdom Discord. We've reading through the bible together for the 3rd time now.
oh wow this is so nice, what a great initiative. All this is something God sees and I'm certain the blessings for that is abundant

Yeah it's my go to for sure. It's pretty much all I read. NKJV every now and aagin
Most bible plans just have targets for going through the Bible once in the year. If I can see some that would do a two times plan, that would be great and also reading with a community or someone else comes in handy in granting motivation when someone may not feel like it always.
I just wanna keep my nose deep in the bible. As much as I can. Stay out of the world lol
