Making Memories

in The Kingdom5 months ago

It's been a while since I posted on chain and there's a reason why....

I'm back on the road.

When I got hired to my new job back in February, I knew there was a few times a year I'd be on the road for a few weeks. This week, is one of those weeks.

When you drive trucks for a living, being away from home is something every driver deals with. And it can be quite taxing on the family life. Imagine being on the road for almost a month at a time, without your loved ones around you....

That's being a trucker.

This new job though, is a little different.

The company I work for is big on family, and that meant I get to take my family with me on the trips when I'm away for weeks on end. Just before I left for my latest trip, my wife and I talked and we decided it would be a great experience for my middle kid to go on the road with me for a few weeks.

We left late Saturday and have gone to Regina, Saskatchewan and currently in Winnipeg, Manitoba. While we aren't travelling huge distances, he gets to be on the road with me for these few weeks. Which is such a blessing!

Of course, he fell asleep as soon as we left! But that's another story...

This new appreciation I have for 'making memories' with my family has kind of taken over my life this summer. A few weeks ago, my entire family spent a long weekend in Calgary. Now my son and I are on the road!

We just spent 4 days in Winnipeg, and are starting the journey home. But we're actually going to a summer camp for our church in Saskatchewan. Which should be a fantastic experience for him. This is new for us! New for me too, because of life situations over his entire life, we never got to do this.

And now we can!

And we are :)

Don't forget to spend time with your loved ones. These are the moments that will last a life time in their memories.

Enjoy that time. I am trying to find similar opportunities

Keep us posted my friend. We still love seeing the updates when they come through.

The company I work for is big on family,

What a wonderful blessing. This puts a whole new adventurous spin on "bring your kids to work" type of days. This extended adventure is when long-term memories happen. Have fun!

Best time spent is with family. Wish you all the best on your life journey!

It’s good to see you. Following your journey

You just fulfill one of the biblical obligations of family head to his family to be with their family at all times. It even include being on the roads. Also, Time will family is the best time spent.

Keep doing your best and God will surely support you all.

Pretty awesome your job lets you make memories with your family. Spending time together is priceless and builds strong bonds. Enjoy every moment good friend

It sounds like a long trip but I do think it's nice that you can bring along your kid for the trip. I hope he has some great times and I agree that we should spend time with our loved ones.

Spending time with family is always fun and creates memories that last a lifetime. It's good your present job allows you to be with your family. Your son especially needs you now he's growing up, for companionship and for guidance. I do hope your job is treating you well. Wishing you and yours the best. Have a great day.

Honestly, if it is possible to earn a living at our comfort zone, I’m sure a lot of people will not want to leave their families for once
Family is everything…
I pray God blesses your work and family

These are moments that matter, I always had fun going at dad's work. Even if it was boring at times.

Family is no doubt a must to spend time with as that's what matters most in every human life if not the only thing that does. Good you're living the life.

I love it when men understand the need for having a strong family bond, you rock buddy, keep winning.

There’s nothing better than family in life. No matter how rich you may seem to be, you still need family around you.
It feels sad to be away from family at times but it’s usually for the good
Family times are golden!
