Thinking Out Loud About....Genesis to Revelation

I did a post on my @jongolson account earlier this week about setting New Year's Resolutions.

Personally, I can't stand them because the majority of times that we set them, we end up giving up. I argued that we needed to create milestones and set up plans to achieve those smaller goals that add up over time.

It got me thinking about something I've been wanting to do for a few years now but never committed to it.

Reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Every single day, for a year!

Basically, following a 'bible in a year' reading plan and actually sticking to it....

My wife, mom and myself were having a bible study last night and we discussed committing to a year long reading plan, and sticking to it. We all agreed, it wouldn't be the easiest thing we've ever done...However God put it on our hearts to seriously consider it.

And then I thought...How can I make this a 'community event' for the Kingdom here on Hive?

I'm the first admit, we haven't really been setting the world on fire for Christ with this project that we thought of a few years ago. Life happens, but there's no excuse to not dive into scripture daily. And if we set up some way to support each other in this journey through the Bible, I think it could be a huge blessing for everyone.

So a few things...

  • Is this something people would like to follow along with?

  • Is there some kind of 'bible in a year' reading plan that you have done in the past?

  • And I'd love to create content about my journey through scripture in 2023....I guess my own sort of devotional on Hive lol

I've got a lot of ideas for this, but wanted to 'judge the room' and get a feel if anyone else would like to start at Genesis 1 on January first and go all the way to Revelation 22 by December 31st, 2023?

If you wanna hang out with some other fans of Scripture and mindmap this project, stop by the Kingdom's Discord server.

I'm in. What is your plan?

Oh gosh lol I'm winging it lol

I have a bunch of 1 year reading plans I'm checking out...Some are old testament in the morning then new testament in the evenings...Not sure exactly what would be best, as I've never done a 'bible in a year' plan lol
