Are you tired of trying to overcome sin on your own? Are you worn out from trying to be perfect, in your own power? I know I have!
Have you tried to be righteous on your own and found yourself seriously wanting? Oh yes! We've all been there.
Are you tired, weary and burdened? Do you feel like you're carrying the weight of this world on your shoulders?
Here is the good news: we don’t have to do this on our own. Jesus Christ paid the price for us, so that we could be saved from our sin, and so that we could also be partakers of the Father’s inheritance.
He's inviting us to come to him and find rest. Yes rest! The life of Christ is an unburdened life, filled with rest and blessed assurance.
The Bible says in Mathew 11:28-30 (KJV)
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
We strive to find rest, peace and freedom in all sort of ways, but most times it's impossible. That's why we need to allow Jesus into our lives.
With Jesus, we'll get to enjoy the rest that we so much desire. All it'll take is to allow him into your heart.
Jesus' yoke is easy and His burden is light. He doesn't ask us to carry a heavy load or follow some rigid rules. Instead he offers us a gentle and humble way of living. When you come to Jesus, you'll find rest for your soul.
Don't try to carry your burden alone anymore come to Jesus and let Him give you the rest you so desperately desire.
So what do you say? Are you ready to let go of those heavy burdens and find rest in christ?

Jesus, I come to you today, weary and burdened, please give me rest and take my burdens upon yourself. Help me to trust in your gentle and humble heart.

The trials of life can weigh one down to the extent of questioning God's existence. I thank God everyday that I don't have to carry my burdens alone, he is always there, he has shown me that he is always.
