Monochrome Monday Balcony

While on our vacation recently, we stayed at quite a few different hotels over the few days that we were out traveling. This meant that we were able to see quite a few different areas which in some ways ends up being really nice! What my wife didn't enjoy very much though was this one particular room.. lol

The hotel was one that we looked up and it was more of a condo place than a hotel, but they rented out the rooms to people. This worked out fine because we did end up with a decent room but one thing I liked here was the view! I love being high up like this, even though it is a little dangerous for a few things lol

You got such a good view of the coastline and the other things around it which was nice! There were obviously not many other places or hotels that were as tall as this one, and we weren't even on the top floor when we were in our room here. We were on the 10th floor and there were 12. I couldn't imagine the view from another 20 feet up higher lol.

My wife hated the view though! She is one that likes being on the 4th or 5th floor of a place because that's where it's a little more reasonable if something happens, you can get out of there pretty quickly and easily. I would've slept fine being on the 10th floor but she wasn't feeling it
lol

We did end up getting another room which is a whole different story but I knew that I wanted to take a few snaps of the view that I would've had, had we kept the room! I enjoyed it and it was certainly a nice view and was great to be able to listen to the surf that close to us. In our other room you got a better view and sound of the surf so we slept pretty damn good that night, listening to the waves all night!

I love being that close to the ocean and having a good view, it makes for a pretty relaxing time to hang out in the hotel room in the evening as you wind down. Turning the pictures into black and white gives it a cool vibe, also given the fact that the air was pretty hazy from the rain it makes it look interesting!

Welcome to the community!

Black & White really looks good on these elevated views!

Thanks! I'll certainly be posting here routinely if that's okay! Monochrome Monday is one of my favorites.

Perhaps some confusion? Actually "Monochrome Monday" seems like an initiative by another community. ;) Probably the Black & White community is more suitable for such posts?
Here, in the PS we usually post and discuss more about the Photography topics, instead of travel stories or just beautiful photos.
Hopefully the community isn't considered as a competitor to one of the already existing bigger picture-centered communities, hopefully you understand! :)

Your photography-related posts are always welcome here!

I don’t like the black and white community myself. It’s filled with what I felt was circle jerking of the same people. They had good talent for sure but they always selected the same group of people and voted them or gave them the winning prizes. I’m not saying I’m an incredibly photographer but every time I posted and entered something, with what I felt was a decent entry for the particular contest, it was never even given a second look. I haven’t posted in that community for over 2 years now because of it lol.

I wouldn’t mind posting the photography stuff here but if there’s a particular theme you’d rather the community be focused on let me know and if it doesn’t fit I won’t post em.

Your point of view is totally understandable. Sorry for the delayed response I thought I replied to this but now I see there is no replay and this is important.
HIVE, as a social network, has this side, that some people like and are attracted to certain other people so probably the quality of the content is not the first thing that may attract good votes.
As you said in another comment, it is more or all about money sometimes too.
Nothing new, HIVE is just a mirror to the other, "real" world.

Long story short, your photos and reflections are more than welcome here!

Lovely pictures of a beautiful place!

Thanks man! I loved being up so high lol

This feels more like an observation tower than a hotel room :))) I understand your wife sentiment :)
To sleep while listening to the waves is very chilling, I love that too.
Would've been interesting to have a telephoto lens and get some "aerial" feel photos.

!PIZZA

Haha yeah it was pretty high up for sure! I wanted a drone to take some photos from there but we don't have one lol

If HIVE gets to USD 5.00, I'll buy a drone myself :D
I have a list of aerial photo projects but time and money is never enough, hehehe.

All the views look pretty great in black and white!

Thanks dude! I really liked the one where the coastline was straight and you could see for a while before the mist took over. Felt very strange and Stephen king lol
