Like many new games, Axie Infinity has a bit of a learning curve. I felt the pain just like many others. I wanted to write a quick article about what I think the top 10 things I wish I knew or considered when I was building my first team/scholars.
1. Patience I felt such a rush to buy a team and start earning SLP. I was fortunate to get some good advice about my first team but I had no idea what it meant. I did not know how to use it, I didn't know why I bought it. I didn't know what to change or keep. Take your time and learn,
2. Pre budget your teams This is a good related tip. Make sure to scout out the cost of roughly the team you want and transfer enough weth to Ronin. The cost of gas is expensive and you don't want to do it twice!
3. Have a Gameplan Sounds simple right? It isn't. As soon as I started playing I got hooked. I wanted to flood with scholars and investment axies and while I am happy I did... I bought some really bad axies. Make sure you don't go crazy.
4. Synergy More often than not, Axies can be good in certain situations. Make sure your cards work well together. If you have a bug chain card make sure you have bug cards. If you have a lot of combo cards make sure you have energy builders. You can play off meta as long as your cards flow together.
5. It is you not the Axies! This is a big one. I thought my team was bad for a while. Turns out I was bad (Who would have guessed) even if your a scholar with a not top team. Practice learn scenarios, Fight weird choices, be off meta, stand out and find a way. Work with your manager to improve team but in the meantime, try like hell!
6. Arena is how you learn* Adventure is okay... The SLP is made from arena. Fight hard. lose,lose,lose,win lose. We all lose. Get over it and get back to playing. You can practice arena with 0 energy. DO IT!
7. Seek Advice The Axie community is honestly amazing. Ask for help. Ask for opinions. You will get more help then you ever needed. Just make sure to look in the right places. If you ever can't find someone to answer your questions join our discord OCE https://discord.gg/SF5bcFnQ
8. Make Mistakes I know, I know I just wrote an article about not making mistakes. Well guess what? You will. Embrace it, enjoy it, at the end of the day you make money playing a game. You will lose some, prices will go down, you will have tough days. Enjoy the grind, Seek advice and it will all work out. Get out in the arena and make that SLP!
