Seeing you talk about eggshell in game one, I picked up a neat trick watching Polaco play in the first E1337 tournament. He left his opponent's midline beast barely alive and baited his opponent to use eggshell the next round. Next round he played enough cards to kill the bird off. Must admit that I thought leaving the beast alive was a mistake until he executed his plan. Was left stunned at how smart the move was. Next level mind game play.
Your second game was quite painful I think. He skipped in that 1v2 and you didn't kill off his midline aqua. Was a very good skip from him. Would have come down to the wire if you killed the midline off and saved one razor bite. But I'm thinking that the early game cost you a lot more than the late game.
Double aquas are normally quite aggressive in the first round but, most of the time even if they play all their damage in round 1, a pumpkin is enough to tide you over in round 2 even if they go all out, especially if you are playing serious in round 1. They lose out if they try nimo to have 3 energy for round 2. The pumpkin in round 1 was unnecessary I think. By the time you reached 1v2 he was in quite a controlling position because of the energy and cards he had stacked up, would have still been an uphill battle for you if you managed to kill the midliner off.
That's another problem with the egg; the user being smart enough to play mind games.
Yes, really had a bad losing streak before this.
It's a noob mistake that I didn't cool down a bit and still proceed the grind with that state of mind.
