The next morning, Uy Scuti was awakened when her eyes stroked with the blinding ray of sun.
She stretched her arms and slowly adjusted her eyes with the sunshine.
The morning came, and a new day had been made for her to enjoy. She closed her eyes for a minute and brought herself to stand up from her lump in the bed. She wished she could stay longer, but it seems like the outside world is already summoning her presence. She must stand now for reasons. Her family may be on the move.
If they would support her low-key and stand up for her against the council, it would be good, but the moment they would say as what she said, she's already a criminal who is at loose. She may be committing treason. Her family heirloom may be on the line. Her father's authority may be impeached.
Whatever it is, she would leave it to the oldies.
She must move now.
The moment she stepped outside, the first thing she noticed was the scorching heat of the sun.
How come this Peak had the most temperate weather when it's not even closer to the sun?
Eruhi, the highest Peak, is covered with mist, and even the sun is so close that even the dragons used for wars can come across easily. Eruhi Peak shares the coolest temperature that the Peak is covered with snow.
That this is why they call Eruhi Peak as the Peak of all good things, and what lies below seems ordinary compared to what lies ahead.
The main reason why it seems they don't belong in the same country, living in two different worlds.
She first came across the marketplace and soared all good food again. She must taste everything because the food here is divine.
Also, they are exquisite yet inexpensive.
Today, she will try the Bubblegum Nectar Shake. She heard half-caste talking about a big beverage kiosk situated in the last few kiosks of the marketplace, and of course, she must try those. If necessary, she would be eating another lot of new food again to test her new-sprung palate.
The marketplace is like a wide playground. Some are also running into the marketplace's middle ground as if beautiful things happened there. She paid close attention to the Axies and made her away after obtaining her bowl of Caesar popcorns and Bubblegum Nectar Shake.
"Go Barbarians,"
As she neared, a loud cheer was heard around the place. Few Axies were around, and another one, like a bearer, was standing in the middle of the crowd.
The Axie is holding two hand baskets, and Axies line up to put bottled smooth love potions in the basket.
As Axies were instructing the bearer of their bets, he moves around the crowd as if remembering what have been told.
She comes closed, swiftly moving in between, and asks someone who's just looking at the commotion at her sight.
"Uhm, excuse me. What are they doing?"
"A fight?"
The woman Axie looked at her in disbelief as if she grew three heads.
"In the market grounds?"
The woman smiled.
"No, this is called the Fairé Arenē lé marchē."
She just shrugged.
What's that word again?
She never heard anything that sounded so artsy.
"Is that a native language?"
The woman laughed at her.
"It's your first time in the city?"
She sighed and thought of it for a moment.
Well, basically-its her first time.
"Yes?"
" You're not sure? Come sit with me."
The woman dragged her around and found a seat with a nice view.
"What's your name?"
She blinked. Telling her real name would scare people away. A bright idea popped into her mind. The constitution says they cannot fake their identities in pertinent records, but this is just a casual meeting.
"Uri Scarlet."
She extends her right hand and puts the nectar Shake in her lap.
"You're so trusting,"
The woman laughed.
*"It wouldn't hurt you if you don't tell me your fall name, ey?" *
She said and nudged her left arm.
"I'm Jewel."
"Jewel?"
"Yes, just Jewel?"
The woman talks fast and shares a lot.
Uy found out that this is called street fighting.
Axies usually fight in three as a group. Seriously speaking, aside from the gladiator battles she spectated with her brothers in the Court Society Gladiator Arena, this is no compare.
Their arena is big, like a dome complex and thousands of seats.
She looked around and saw others standing just to watch the starting fight.
"Could norm---, I mean, do Axies draw their own cards without magic?"
She asked after a while. The woman cooed her head and pinched her. Her mouth twitched, are they close enough now?
*"Basically, everyone here has the power too." *
Jewel laughs and snaps her fingers.
"Look."
She got a glimpse of the card that she had drawn. It sits in her hand.
"Mite Bite," Uy held Jewel's hand.
The woman Axie could draw a card when a direct descendant of the royal blood cannot even draw a card.
Woman, you ditched every training in your lifespan, her conscience echoed on the surface.
She rolled her eyes.
"That's a dangerous card."
"Nope, it's a free card. And I wasn't aiming to attack you, dimwit."
She snapped but controlled her emotions.
Bouki Peak indeed is another dimension for her. What is considered an offense to the Eruhi Court Society may not be practiced on the lower peaks.
"You want to see my cards."
The woman narrowed her eyes, and her cards appeared at her sight.
Mite Bite-Aquaponics-Chitin Jump- Scale Dart
She rolled her eyes and squinted afterward.
Trying to focus, maybe she could draw hers as well.
"Are you still going to attend the guilds to polish your in-game skills? I want to see yours."
Jewel, inquiring. She tried squinting again. There is no way she could let herself lose on this big-mouth half-caste woman.
The woman forced a snap on her forehead, and shadows of her cards came visible in her eyes.
What?!
"What?!"
Mirrored in awe exclaimed by the woman.
"There is no way in hell that I couldn't even peak in your cards."
The woman sulked, but she felt stupified. She darted her eyes in front and saw half-caste bugs fighting in front. Some have a guild name on the back of their jackets, and she creased her forehead even more.
Streetfighters and normal Axies should not draw cards instantly.
Is that thing taught in the academy too?
As the Barbarians won the arena fight or whatever petty fight they call it, the thing is that.
A visible ranking appeared on top of their heads, and they got rewarded for their portions of Smooth Love Potion.
The Lunacian Academy is very boring for her. Of course, she graduated but never heard about those in her academic pursuit. Aside from the training she ditched, she doesn't clearly discern what has been that.
The gladiator arena doesn't reward Axies. The warriors are notable and don't have to fight in order to acquire a small love potion.
Their very existence gives them an ample amount of shards. They don't farm. They just collect.
"That thing is not taught in academies, right?"
"Exactly, those are taught when you entered a guild."
"A guild?"
"Yes. You're so ignorant. Let's move along, and I will tell you everything."
She drifted and rolled her eyes.
"You're tactless."
"I'm factual, stupid." She exemplified.
Now that she understood that things come in various places and that the only way normal Axies can enter the premises of the elite caste is to work their tails off to have a slot on top.
By means, if she wanted to become recognized, Uy Scuti should undergo those stupid training and acquire two more Axies to make up a team.
The problem is that, how could she do that?!
"Form a team with me. You're an academic graduate, right?"
She felt stupified once more. She took a glimpse of what lay in front of her eyes across the horizon.
The Eruhi Peak is covered with mist, as the usual view from the lower peaks.
She nodded in the absence and spiel a mantra. Wait for me family, I'm gonna make it, and I'll be back in your arms once again after I finish this self tasked goal that I have. Wait a little longer, for it will not take me forever.
