*Buoki Peak is great, as she can tell. *
Jewel, on the other hand, is too much to handle.
Since the morning, Uy, who had been going around the corners of peak and soared a lot of places, only to find out guilds are made with protective barriers before they enter one, or one must say, to pass a test.
In her normal state, Jewel playing overly motivated and energetic the morning they spent together started touching every wall they passed through.
She remembers almost being thrown in the garbage pit as Jewel opened a portal to the pit. Everyone knows the place, "the Smokey Mountain," aside from the dungeons in the burrows known as the "Deepest Hell Dungeon," she would never like to set foot in any place close to the Smokey Mountains.
Jewel tugged her close beside the woman Axie and gripped her hands. They had finished their lunch almost hours ago, but she's starting to feel hungry again.
"Those who seek power remain ordinary. Those chosen are worthy."
She heard one chant that made her gaze at the woman who was gripping her hands as if some big wave could separate Uy from her.
"What, ain't rude to stare at someone?"
The half-caste axie judged Uy by her eyes, squinting and creasing her forehead.
"Are you some kind of witch now? You're changing something."
"I don't."
The woman looks at her as her bug teeth move.
"Witch, you say?"
She twitched her mouth and took a sigh as the woman dragged her around, going circles in the marketplace and back to the alleys finding a magic portal Jewel assumed as the entrance of guild she-they aspired to be in.
"This is getting boring."
Uy nudged her companion, almost sitting on the pavement. Her soles were aching, and she felt anytime soon, her feet would tremble and unable to move.
Living her life as a princess is, by far, the longest walk she has had.
Damned woman, she told herself and glared at the woman who is wistful and oblivious of what she is feeling, continued to reshuffle her cards upon her eyes then dragging them to find access.
"Do you know--"
"No."
She rolled her eyes. Uy doesn't want to hear her talk; it's draining her. Jewel is bubbly and energetic, but she's not par with this woman who keeps going circles looking for something impossible.
"Do you know that an average member of the guild finds themselves a guild after months of searching?"
She said as if it's not a big thing. Uy looked at Jewel with her big eyes; now, she's starting to hate her newfound companion for being stubborn.
"You're joking me. Let's call this a day."
She urged her, but the woman pulled her again.
"Let's move and eat another snack."
Jewel consoled. Jewel found the path back into the marketplace and took the closest alley. Uy's sight adjusted to the dark hallway as gems embedded on the pavement light up, giving anyone who steps on it a clear view of what lies ahead.
The picturesque view switched to an inaudible animated moving characters. The first thing that registered there is lies the heart of Eruhi Peak, the Court Palace, also known as the heart of the Court Society.
Following there, the elite rulers of the peak, she closed her eyes and slowly walked, letting Jewel strides forward before wiping a few shed tears that fell out her eyes.
She definitely missed home.
"Welcome to the Arc Museum Snack Bar."
Jewel tilted her head as they entered the floating portal, which the modern society of Buoki Peak called a lift, which is no different from the extravagant portal she was in early in the morning before taking off for another journey.
Uy gulped the moment they entered the place. It is a pub situated on top of the marketplace.
They almost touched the mist that covered the Eruhi Peak but was still invisible to their eyes. It's funny that the skies colored in orange and blue are telescopic on their exteroception, but the peak is still open for the view of the people situated below the borders.
The power of the sealing barrier of the elite paladins.
She neared their table and watched Jewel buy foods good until the next morning; she moved to snatch the menu Jewel was holding and stopped her further from typing her orders in the electronic slate in front of her.
It's a good thing this advanced technology is present already at its peak and that when they say "tablet," she's no longer at a loss.
"Is this even food?"
She inquired, sitting. On the one she last ordered.
The Witch of Bugcraft. Sounds awful.
"Nope,"
She replied, popping the letter "p" on her mouth.
She stood up and inquired around, also looking things on the Arc Museum, as long as away from Jewel, who has been a good companion to not look stupidly roaming in a strange place but draining her completely.
It's hard to talk to her with sense, indeed. She stood far from Jewel, seated, staring at the menu and mumbling something.
The half-caste woman is too persistent and determined to find a guild to train and sleep in for the night. She specifically told Jewel that as a traveler searching for an academy to stay in, far from what she expected to be doing.
Uy had the funds to stay wherever she wanted, but the woman was too doubtful that she had anything to do whatever she wanted.
True to the fact that she cannot use shards to pay her bills when she's with the woman as she carries digitalized wallet that is scanned then, her payment is sent directly to anyone. Which she doesn't have, and it's hard to find any place to pay with shards.
The struggle is real for her, who didn't consider that the Lunacian Kingdom uses the Smooth Love Potion to shop, eat, and everything in between.
As she gazed at the painting of a giant castle she never knew existed in the Lunacian Kingdom, she fell into deep thinking.
The 3 Celestial Palace would look exuberant even in legends written in book pieces; Queen Galadriel's castle, the most known in the entire Lunacian Kingdom, is incomparable of the castle.
The Queens castle is almost a big cloud that spreads, and houses the whole ground kingdoms. Looking at the latter court, it seems like something drawn from a classical era. She searched for the painter. Instead, she found the characters below.
*"Witches at night save the day. Witches at day slay and sway. Witches, witches..." *
Jewel stood up, running beside her,
Uy. On the other hand, she got blinded by the light emitted by the painting.
"This is sick, this is sick."
Jewel chanted while Uy slowly grasped her hands to keep her tone down.
She's feeling a little eerie. She blinked when a dark enveloping aura hugged both of them.
Jewel smiled at her. Uy wanted to run or hide. It felt like a black hole was taking her away from the ground.
The next she knew, she stood in front of the castle she was looking at a while ago.
"Well, well, two half-castes in my way. Are they here to seek hell?"
Loud, creepy.
Uy detected the voice from their back.
She slowly tilted her head and looked back
Small, black cloak, a wrinkled face, aristocratic nose, an evil smile.
She closed her eyes to calm down her senses.
The Witch of Bugcraft dawned at them. Now, they are to choose peace when they seek war.
