Hola querido hiver.
Hasta ahora no había compartido fotografías del viaje a la playa que hice en abril, salvo un par de excepciones. El volumen es grande y tengo material para muchas publicaciones. Eso juega en mi contra porque elegir entre tantas opciones me termina paralizando, pero espero que en bocados pequeños todo vaya saliendo.
Estas fotografías corresponden a La Casa de las conchas, que está en la localidad costera de Peñíscola, en España. Es un punto de paso obligado para los turistas aunque no se puede visitar por dentro.
Lo que no es habitual es conseguir fotografiarla con la libertad que tuve ocasión. Siempre hay alguien posando delante de ella o caminando por la calle. Lo increíble es que ni siquiera tuve que esperar a que nadie se fuera. Coincidí con otro fotógrafo aficionado y sin cruzar una palabra nos fuimos turnando para acercarnos a unos u otros detalles. Disparo y un paso atrás. Ahora vas tú. Lo viví como unos momentos mágicos y excepcionales.
De la casa en cuestión poco puedo decir. Pertenece a una familia particular que la construyó con sus ganancias de trabajo como guías turísticos de la localidad. No tiene más interés que lo llamativo de sus paredes externas.
El que se comió todos los moluscos necesarios para adornar esta casa se dio un buen festín, jeje.

Hi, dear hiver.
Until now I have not shared photographs of the beach trip I made in April, except for a couple of exceptions. The volume is large and I have material for many publications. That works against me because choosing between so many options ends up paralysing me, but I hope that in small bites everything will come out.
These photographs correspond to La Casa de las conchas, which is in the coastal town of Peñíscola, in Spain. It is a must for tourists although it is not possible to visit the inside.
What is unusual is to be able to photograph it as freely as I was able to. There is always someone posing in front of it or walking down the street. The amazing thing is that I didn't even have to wait for anyone to leave. I coincided with another amateur photographer and without saying a word, we took turns to get closer to one or another detail. Shot and a step back. Now you go. I experienced it as a magical and exceptional moment.
I can say little about the house in question. It belongs to a private family who built it with their earnings from their work as local tour guides. It is of little interest other than the striking exterior walls.
Whoever ate all the molluscs needed to decorate this house had quite a feast, hehe.

Bonita casa en un lugar muy especial, Peñíscola, cuyo castillo, antes de que se instalara el Papa Luna, fue de mis amigos, los caballeros templarios.
Fueron los caballeros quienes pusieron las primeras piedras y los que hicieron el trabajo más duro y acertado, pues debió ser una fortaleza prácticamente inexpugnable.

No se puede visitar porque vive gente y porque el interior no tiene ningún interés, es una casa normal y corriente. Lo único que la diferencia son sus adornos de conchas por fuera.

Esos momentos en que uno tiene elementos turísticos, así de atractivos, para uno solo, o dos como en tu caso, son inmejorables. Qué suerte que nos hallas podido mostrar lo bello de esta casita sin que hubiese extras que le robaran el protagonismo. Hermoso.
