Harvesting Atis (Sugar Apple) Mama as the Picker and Me as the Devourer - But Look, I Found a Fellow Devourer!

I'm always afraid to pick fruits from a tree using a fruit picker. In my mind, I am afraid that I might get hit in the head or, worse, in the face if I tried it. And so, every time Mom asked me to pick a papaya fruit to mix in Tinola, I always asked Mama for help because she's the one who's an expert on it. Lol. I got so used to climbing up a tree when I was a kid that I never really saw a fruit picker as a useful tool. I mean, why use that if we can just pick it ourselves and without damaging the fruit? Right? Lol.

But now that I'm already old and afraid to climb up a tree, I admit that I am so wrong for thinking that a fruit picker is not useful. I should've tried and gotten used to using it. Now I'm afraid to even try it. What a bummer, Aigooo. How about you? Are you an expert too, or, just like me, are you also afraid to use a fruit picker? Maybe I am the only one who's afraid to get hit, lol. Mama can even catch the fruit that she picks on the tree, while for me, all I have to do is catch then avoid it deliberately, like, stupid me, lol.

Anyway, I saw my mama picking a sugar apple in the yard, and I decided that I should join in. Mama asked me to pick the atis on the ground, which I gladly did. She didn't ask me to catch it because she already knew what my answer would be. Lol. There are times that I don't have to pick them up on the ground because she accidentally catches some of them. My mama's reaction is really just fast that she was able to catch them.

And yep, it's sugar apple season again, lucky us! Just look how beautiful and green this fruit is. And one of the perks of having a tree that bears fruit in your yard is free fruit. It's bear season, which we are always looking forward to because we get to eat it for free. I also missed it's sweet and sour taste with its creamy and delicious taste.

As long as you eat it when it is already ripe, you'll know how good it is. The only thing I don't like about Atis is that it's hard to really enjoy it because of its seeds. As in, there's really a lot of them. And to taste its delicious flesh, you have to get it from the 20–40 seeds inside (according to Google). To be honest, if you are lazy like me, you won't enjoy eating it unless you are craving it or it is your favorite fruit, like Mommy F.

By the way, this is still unripe, so we have to wait first before we can enjoy it. And for it to ripen faster, we will put it in a rice container. I don't know why, but this is what the oldies always do for the fruit to ripen faster. Sugar apples, avocados, or guavas will be put in the rice container instead of the fridge. That's what they believe, and so it passed down to us too, lol ╮(^▽^)╭.

So moving on, let's talk about this tiny creature that devours plants, lkving them some artistic holes, lol. You know, when I was a kid, I could catch this thing without being scared. But now, I'm not sure if it's safe to do that. I could use this to scare some of my friends before, but now I'm the one who's more afraid of it. Like, why self? Lol. Can you still hold this cute little thing here? I mean can you catch it?

And here's the art and the artist, our Calamansi leaves is now in this poor state because of them. I think they are planning to exhibit their arts, and that's why they are taking their sweet time in this calamansi tree-making arts, aigooo.
