My AI-Generated Girlfriend, Who Lives in Canada

I have a girlfriend. You've never met her because she lives in Canada. But you know she's real because I can tell you all about her (after I do some ChatGPT prompts for something else totally unrelated to my real girlfriend in Canada).

I came up with this in one of my replies to @lasseehlers on my alternate @holovision.cash account. It's funny so I've taken a few extra steps with it.

I guess I should first explain the premise. This is mostly an American trope but I think many outside of the U.S. have at least heard of it through American TV shows and movies.

"Girlfriend in Canada", as described by tvtropes.org:

A convenient way for a character to disabuse the idea that they're either gay, too socially inept for a relationship or simply unlucky in love is to claim that they indeed have a girlfriend — but the other characters have never met her because she lives in Canada. ...

I had Stable Diffusion generate an image with the prompt: My girlfriend who lives in Canada.

Then I had chatGPT tell me what the name of my fictional girlfriend in Canada is:

There, you see? My girlfriend in Canada is named Phoebe Morgan. Why would I give you a name if I was lying about having a girlfriend in Canada?

Of course, I need a biography for my Canadian girlfriend so I am prepared for at least the most basic questions about my girlfriend in Canada that nobody other than me has ever seen or talked to.

It's her love of science fiction that brought us together. I think ChatGPT really understood exactly what I wanted by making my girlfriend Phoebe an environmental scientist. If you're skeptical and live in Canada, well, my girlfriend spends a lot of time isolated in nature. It's like a needle in a haystack. But trust me she really exists.
