It's my first time joining in the fun, I got interested in this week's prompt because I've been meaning to tell the world about a special person in my life. So sit back, relax, and enjoy.
Y'all meet my high school friend Chidinma, but I call her "Dimzee".
I've known Dimzee for over a decade now and I'm so excited to have her in my life.
I would say I am an ambivert as it depends on who I am with, plus it's not so hard or easy for me to make friends, I just go with the flow.
After my Senior Secondary School class one, my parents made plans for us to relocate to our apartment, this should be good news yeah? But for me, it was a mixed feeling as I thought about how to start all over again making new friends and coping with my new environment, however, there was nothing I could do.
When we relocated to our apartment, my school changed and it was quite depressing for me, the very first day I stepped into the new school I almost let the tears in my eyes out, all eyes were on me and everybody called me "the new girl in school", which I hated so much😄.
Being a new student in class, a lot of students started extending their hands of fellowship to me but I was not ready to make new friends yet, I was still holding onto my old friends..hehe
Dimzee was the shortest girl in our class and very petite back then and so, many students took advantage of her, they spoke to her anyhow and even sent her on errands, and I was just observing all of them.
She would run errands for them without complaining, what shocked me the most was when I found out that she was the proprietor's daughter, I was gobsmacked!! How could a whole proprietor's daughter be this humble and calm?
That quality attracted me to her, I knew she was someone I would love to get close to, however, I still didn't get close to her that much until the last days of my Senior WAEC (West African Examinations), you how we students exchange contacts during the signing out and that was how our friendship started.
Sadly, not quite long my phone got stolen and so we didn't communicate for years.
One morning, I was scrolling through my Facebook feeds when " friends you may know popped up" It was Chidinma!!
She was so grown up and beautiful that it took me a moment to recognize her, so I sent her a friend request, she accepted after a few moments and then we started to reminisce about the good old days and we exchanged contacts, after some months, we made plans to see each other for the first time after school's graduation and so we had a date at the beach just me and her.
At first, being a rich girl I thought she was going to decline the offer from a common person like me😄😄 or I thought she was going to act all bossy but that was not the case.
Unlike, most of our classmates who have outgrown each other, and felt too big to reply to chats, while some started to form, Chidinma was different.
The good about Chidinma
Like I just stated, She is Humble to a fault, I mean she looks mean at first glance but Chidinma is beautiful inside out.
Chidinma greets even bus conductors, cleaners in a mall, waiters, and drivers, that's how humble she is.
I've gone on countless dates with her and I've experienced firsthand humility from this beautiful soul.
She tries as much as possible to be reasonable when dealing with others and makes use of magic words a lot. "Thank you", "Please" "Pardon me", "Excuse Me" and "I love you".
She is free-spirited, she loves to express herself, and she's the life of the party!!!
I remember one day, she needed to attend an impromptu wedding, she reached out to me two days before the wedding to fix her a dress since I was a tailor, I promised to but unfortunately, I was so sick, I had to force myself to make the dress because she was part of the bridal train, would you believe that Chidinma took it upon herself to always send me food and weekend money once in a while after that day just to show appreciation? This happened last year in April, but even last week Thursday, my package still landed, "Something light for the weekend" 😄😄😄😄
Dinma appreciates the smallest gestures, here is our conversation via WhatsApp.
She is very industrious, she's a vlogger, a skincare therapist, and a young proprietress.
One thing I love about her is, how she doesn't depend on her dad's wealth, she works hard to earn hers.
The Bad Side of Chidinma
She's way too emotional and I don't think I like that because people might take her weakness for granted.
Something that can be of utmost concern to you, is of lesser concern to her, that is she plays too much😄😄, that even when you're serious she's still taking it as a joke.
She's the only friend I start my call conversation with "Hello idiot" and end with "You be mumu I swear, abeg getat!"🤣🤣🤣every freaking time.
She's a good girl but she dresses like a baddie😄😄😄, she loves piercings so much, I think she has more than 5 piercings on her ear and even she's got on her navel, but that doesn't make her a bad person.
She's a minister of enjoyment, that should not be a bad thing, right? But she spends so much on trivial things and I wish she could be more prudent. However, it's her money and she can afford them, so that's not so bad.
The Ugly Side of Chidinma
She gets angry easily and forgets important dates/days easily,😪😪 but forgives easily too.
She doesn't hide her feelings, she tells you exactly how she feels, that's good right, but she could be very blunt at times.😀
She doesn't give a hoot about what you think about her, I think I like that part of her, which is why she does what truly makes her happy.
The one I wish she could change is, Chidinma never keeps to time. My God!! 😪😪😪😪😪 and she could cancel a last-minute date just because she is lazy to come out.😄😄😄
She's also a movie freak, omg!!! She's the queen of Netflix and chills.
A quick one, Dimzee is way taller than I am now 😄😄😄, she grew to be big, beautiful, bold, and sweeter.
In summary, I can't get Chidinma out of my life or memory because of the first impression she created in my head.

Soooo much for one human? I really don't need to meet this person to believe all you've said about her. She's indeed beautiful, that petite girl everyone used to laugh at and call smallie is now taller and bigger. I love that so much.
